Hekko History
Hekko was founded in California
where schools have been hit particularly hard by budget cuts and yet
are still under increasing and unrelenting pressure to achieve higher
and higher standardized test scores.
In the spring of 2003, the founders of Hekko, parents themselves,
set out to create a revolutionary new approach in cooperative learning
by developing a program that simultaneously benefits students, parents,
and schools. From the very
beginning, there have been four cornerstone principles that have guided
Hekko development:
1. Create a standards-based
education program that keeps the childrens' interest.
2. Create
a convenient system that accommodates teachers' needs during the
school day.
3. Provide another opportunity for parents to participate in their
child's education.
4. Leave No School Behind: All schools will be offered Hekko free
of charge.
Hekko is staffed by dedicated and caring professionals who have more
than thirty years of combined Internet business and software experience
and nearly
fifty
years of classroom and teaching experience from which to draw.
